This November, television screens across the globe will light up once again with the thrilling return of The Flash for an eighth season. This beloved DC hero, known as The Fastest Man Alive, is gearing up for a high-octane adventure.
Reunion of Heroes: CWverse Stars Reprise Their Roles
This time, however, he won’t be going it alone. Fans of the CWverse are in for a treat as a host of familiar faces join Barry Allen in a five-part epic adventure titled ‘Armageddon.’
The Fastest Man Alive will be back with the five-part adventure ‘Armageddon’ with Javicia Leslie as Batwoman, Brandon Routh as the Atom, Cress Williams as Black Lightning, Chyler Leigh as Sentinel, Kat McNamara as Mia Queen, Osric Chau as Ryan Cho, plus Tom Cavanagh and Neal McDonough as Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash and Damien Darhk.
Routh gave up the role of the Atom in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow last year, while the series Black Lightning ended its run (in the US) in May, so these are two welcome and surprising returns.
‘Armageddon’: A Battle Against Time and Alien Threats
The narrative arc of ‘Armageddon’ promises an adrenaline-fueled adventure as a formidable alien threat descends upon Earth under enigmatic circumstances. This imminent danger pushes Barry Allen (Grant Gustin), Iris West-Allen (Candice Patton), and the rest of Team Flash to their utmost limits in a desperate bid to save the world. As the clock ticks down, the team, along with humanity’s fate, teeters on the brink. To face this enormous challenge, Flash and his companions will need to call upon their old friends for help. With such high stakes, ‘Armageddon’ is set to be a roller coaster of action and emotion.
A Promise of Emotional Depth and Epic Surprises from the Executive Producer
The Flash executive producer Eric Wallace said of the event, “Simply put, these are going to be some of the most emotional Flash episodes ever. Plus, there are some truly epic moments and huge surprises that await our fans.
And we’re doing them on a scale that’s bigger and bolder than our traditional Flash episodes. So yes, Armageddon is a lot more than just another graphic novel storyline. It’s going to be a true event for Flash and Arrowverse fans, old and new. Honestly, I can’t wait for audiences to see what we’ve got planned.”
The Flash returns with Season 8 on November 16 on the CW in the US, followed by Sky One in the UK.
